The UK’s largest celebration of women in business!
EVAS Male Allies
EVAS Male Allies
Because gender equality isn’t a women’s issue it’s a leadership issue.
At the Enterprise Vision Awards, we’ve spent years celebrating the incredible impact of women in business. But we don’t tip-toe around: real change happens faster when our allies actively get involved.
And many already are.
Our #EVASMaleAllies are the brilliant men who champion their female colleagues, partners, wives, daughters and friends. The ones who show up, lift up, and speak up. The ones who understand that supporting women in business isn’t about helping it’s about unlocking talent, innovation and economic growth.
We need more of them.
In every boardroom. Every meeting. Every sector. Everywhere.
Why Male Allies Matter
Women don’t lack ambition, talent or ideas they lack access, visibility and equity in systems built without them in mind.
Male allies can help accelerate change by:
- Using their influence to open doors In procurement, promotion, funding and leadership.
- Challenging bias when they see it In conversations, policies, culture and decision-making.
- Amplifying women’s voices Especially when women are being talked over or talked for.
- Sharing the load at home and at work Because equality isn’t achieved through motivational quotes; it’s achieved through action.
- Modelling what good leadership looks like Inclusive, fair, human.
This isn’t theory it works.
Businesses with gender-balanced leadership see higher performance, stronger retention and better financial outcomes.
Everyone wins.
What #EVASmaleallies Actually Do
This isn’t a badge.
It’s a behaviour.
Our EVAS Male Allies:
- Show up at EVAS events and shout about the incredible women in their world
(You’ll spot them cheering loud.) - Use their platforms and networks to spotlight female-led businesses
Whether that’s on LinkedIn, in corporate meetings, or at the pub. - Back women with action, not tokenism
Mentorship, opportunity sharing, advocacy, introductions. - Engage in the conversation
About bias, barriers and the billion-pound potential of female enterprise. - Support initiatives like The SheChain, WIB360, mentoring programmes and community-led change
Because creating opportunity is a team effort.
Male Allies in Action
Allyship isn’t a headline, it’s a behaviour, shown through listening, learning, challenging outdated norms and backing women with real action. At the EVAS, we’re fortunate to see this in practice across our community.
Our judges, sponsors, partners and supporters all play a part in creating an environment where women in business can thrive. Among them, EVAS Board Member Lee Chambers stands out as someone who consistently models allyship in a thoughtful, practical way.
When people use their voice and influence well, others take notice. That’s how momentum builds, doors open, and genuine change takes root.
Why It Matters Now
The Female Entrepreneurship Report made it very clear:
The UK cannot afford to ignore half its talent. If women started and scaled businesses at the same rate as men, billions would be added to the UK economy.
Progress is happening but not fast enough. Male allies can accelerate that progress.
