IATQB – EVAS Winner

In 2022, Dani Wallace’s team nominated her and the company, IATQB for the EVAs. The nomination process brought lasting benefits, as Dani and her team now regularly reflect on the questions they answered for the awards. This ongoing self-assessment helps them shape future plans and supports the business’s continued growth.

Why did you enter?

I’ve been in business for over a decade in various roles, and I’ve always seen the EVAs as more than just an awards body – it’s an incredible community. Being a finalist, and ultimately a winner, was something I had always aspired to, so when my team took the time to nominate me and my business, it truly touched me.

It wasn’t until I started my training and coaching company, IATQB, that I felt I had the right platform to enter. The appeal was not just the prestige and recognition, but also the sense of community the EVAs have cultivated.

Being a winner has surrounded me with like-minded people, both through the networking opportunities and the increased visibility on social media, which has significantly elevated my status.

How did you hear about the awards?

As a proud Prestonian, I first heard about the EVAs through Coral and the Pink Link network. I’d also heard other networks talking about how prestigious the EVAs are, not just locally but across a wider area. It was partly through word of mouth and partly from being active in various networking circles. The EVAs are highly regarded by other networks, and it’s wonderful to see my peers from across the UK being nominated and becoming finalists this year.

Have you entered any other awards?

Yes, we’ve also entered the She Inspires Awards. Additionally, due to my high profile, I’ve now taken on the role of presenting at award ceremonies, which has been an exciting progression for me.

What did it mean for you and your team to be shortlisted?

My team is spread across the UK, and at the start of the year, we sat down to discuss which awards would be meaningful achievements for us as a team. We wanted to align these awards with how we represent our accomplishments because we’ve grown so quickly that we often don’t pause to reflect on all we’ve achieved. Personally, I find it challenging to take a step back, as I’m constantly focused on the next goal. It’s rare for me to fully appreciate everything we’ve built, achieved, and have in the pipeline.

What did it mean to win?

Having experienced homelessness and losing everything, being able to have my business recognized at that level was an incredible achievement. Bringing my mum to such a prestigious event and seeing her reaction when my name was called as the winner was absolutely priceless – no amount of money could buy that moment. Although my team is spread across the UK and couldn’t all attend in person, they watched the EVAS Livestream online and shared that special moment with me in real-time, which made it even more meaningful.

“When we say we’re an EVA’s winner when we are pitching for sponsorship and things like that we’re more inclined to secure it because we’ve had that recognition and validation from that awarding body that’s obviously been scrutinised through the judging process.”

What has been the impact of winning?

Winning the EVA’s really boosted our confidence to continue growing at the pace we are. We’ve since launched other media companies as offshoots, and I don’t think we would have done that with the same level of confidence before. The external validation from the awards made us truly see and recognise the impact of what we’re doing. It confirmed that we’re on the right path and headed in the right direction.

Having that recognition as an award-winning company has also elevated our credibility. When we pitch for sponsorships or events now, mentioning that we’re an EVA’s winner gives us greater respect and trust. The fact that these awards are national and recognised, and have gone through a rigorous judging process, makes a huge difference when we’re trying to secure partnerships.

The process of answering the nomination questions was also incredibly valuable. It pushed us to reflect on our achievements and think about where we’re headed. Since then, we’ve continued to ask ourselves those same questions, which has helped us grow even further. In the two years since winning, that self-assessment has become a key part of how we measure our progress and set future goals.
